Selected Exhibits
The basis of the Museum’s own collection is composed of donated private collections. We have agreed upon accepting the donation of a collection of Middle Eastern silks (about 100 items) and ceramics (about 70 items), an ethnographic collection of items connected with Vietnamese Muslim culture, a collection of Uzbek designer clothes based on Central Asian cultural traditions (over 20 items), photo collections with a total composition of over 50 thousand storage units (Volga region, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Yemen, Oman, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Nigeria, India, Ceylon, Maldives, Indonesia), and a set of other items (jewelry of the Muslims of Ladakh and the Arabs of Uzbekistan carpets, rare editions of the Qu’ran). The St. Petersburg Museum of the History of Photography announced its readiness to present us its collection of photographic prints of the late 19th — early 20th centuries dedicated to the world of Islam.
In cooperation with the world largest online museum in the world — Museum With No Frontiers (MWNF), opened in 2005, we started to present our collections using among the other tools the latest information technologies.
